Java Island could be one of the most beautiful islands in the world. I can say this because, without any hesitation to talk about it, this island provide so many beautiful spots that can be your reference to spend your holiday's time with your family. 

For today's topic, I hereby want to show you one spot that will hypnotizes yourself and brings you to the greatness of God.  ^_^ This spot is called RANU KUMBOLO. A small lake that sits in the valley of Mt. Semeru, Lumajang, East Java. 

If you have ever been in Mount Bromo before, you can see Mount Semeru from Penanjakan spot. look at this picture.

Not like the other lakes, Ranu Kumbolo, as I said, is located in Mt. SEMERU which is the highest mountain in Java island. The height of this mountain is 3.676 meters above sea level. Whereas, Ranu Kumbolo is positioned at an altitude of 2400 meters above sea level. It is also 15 hectares wide.

Hiking to this spot is very challenging. It is not as east as you think. To reach this spot, you must walk up the mountain for 5 hours, so that you need a strong stamina and eager to get to this spot.

What Can You Get From This Spot?

When you come in the early morning, you will find a breathtaking scenery. The sun shines behind the valleys. Even it looks like it appears between the two valleys. The sunshine will lighten the lake and produces a golden view. WOW! Beatiful, right?

Many people said when they come to this spot that they do not want to miss this chance. Some of them are photographer, so that they can capture this panorama. Even they decide to have a campfire at the edge of the lake and wait for the sun in the morning.

When the sunshine touches the water of the lake, it is seen as if the water is smoky because of the heat of the sunshine. It is actually the mist that cover the area. It is cold, of course. 

Another activity that you can enjoy before deciding to get down (go home) is swimming. You are allowed to swim around the lake. The water serves you a refreshing touch. If you can stand on the cold, you can swim in the morning. But if you don’t, I suggest you not to do this. Ok.

How can You Get There? 

If you are exited to come to this place, you have two ways. First, you can visit Malang city. Some of Malang Tourism Information Center will provide  you a service to go to the place. But if you decide to go on your own, you can go to Tumpang village by transportation. Then you have to continue your trip to Ranu Pani village by hiring or renting SUV car (4 wheel car). Many villagers have this car. It makes your trip easier. Then ready to hike when you just arrive in Ranu Pani village. Second, you can go from Lumajang city. You can ride your own car or rent SUV car (4 wheel car) to go to Ranu Pani village. This is the alternatives that I can inform you.

Oh, remember that in each journey, you need to consider your trip cost.

Well, it is quite cheaper to go to this spot.

In the first place you will visit is permition center. You need to have a permition from this place. If your trip is a kind of hiking and camping activity, you need to pay Rp. 7.000,- . And if you are a foreigner, you have to spend Rp 24.500,- for one person only. This prizee includes the ticket and the permition letter.

If your coming is for recreation, you will spend Rp. 4.500,- cheaper than before. For foreigner, you will spend Rp. 22.000,- .For those who the status are students, they will spend Rp. 3.250,- for one person.

So, the cost you need to come in the spot is cheap. It is not including your travel, renting a car, getting transportation, etc. Ok!
